Wicca’s Steampunk Doll

This is an original kind of blog post for me as it’s special. When I style something for the runway, other than handing in my descriptive style card to whoever the show is for, outside of those who come to watch, my styling is not something I ever really share. Recently, I did a runway show for MADD Modelz that was for the relay for life charity at Sci-Fi Con 2020. My head spun a little bit as it was a last-minute style challenge for me, and thankfully, I have a pretty amazing woman in my life who’s a very dear friend to me, she’s like that in your face mom who will bend over backward to help you but smack you upside the head in the same sentence if you do something dumb (hahah). Minus a Wicca tattoo on my ass I was a walking billboard for this amazing designer and I definitely couldn’t be more proud to have ripped apart all her hard work in various outfits and come up with something completely new that I wanted to share with everyone. I also was fortunate enough to have someone write a little story for me, which I’ll share here for the inspiration of this outfit which he graciously depicted with his words. Thank you, and credit goes out to Tour Blanche for his hard work and creativity of my story. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I have and can take some inspiration from me and how versatile Wicca’s Originals truly is and get into that store and start letting your creativity take over ?

The Living Doll

In the upper level of the floating city, the lord magister lived with his daughter. He was a widower, a single parent, but also a busy man. The obligations of his station pulled him away more often than not. He was proud to be able to provide a fine education and every material things his little girl wanted, but could not give her what she needed most: companionship. His daughter’s 10th birthday was approaching, and while at the market, he spotted something of interest. A craftsman offering the most realistic dolls around. More than mere toys, these dolls were indistinguishable from living people. So he bought one, to give her some friendship and to tend the house while he was focused on work.

The girl was glad to have the doll around. She was always friendly and infinitely patient and tried to be helpful, not only for her but her father as well. At times, it was easy to forget she was a doll at all, but then she would do or say something that was a glaring reminder. For the doll, it was a good life. Many of her line did not get to enjoy such warm households. The doll did dutifully tend the house, and would serve guests, and even entertained as a dancer, which she was quite good at. However, as the magister’s daughter grew older and more mature, she eventually had need of more meaningful relationships, of real people, of her peers. She began dating and going out with her friends, and the doll was left alone at the house more and more often.

One day, the lord magister came home to find the doll laying face-down on the sidewalk. Her face, her limbs, her chest cracked in several places with the synthetic skin-toned plating shattered and missing in several sections. Her voice was off, and she could no longer really perform for them, or serve their needs. He put her out in the back alley trash as if discarding a well-worn but no longer needed toy. He didn’t spare much thought to how or why she had ended up on the roof, nor how such a graceful dancer could have taken such a hard fall. Now she wanders the streets of the floating city, trying to find her place in the world. What happened to her was believed to be an accident; after all, a doll can’t have real feelings, can it?
